 About

Feminist Dialogue provides a space that inspires discussion around feminist topics unaddressed in generations past. A full-frontal feminist organization, our community hosts events that facilitate and encourage engagement with sometimes uncomfortable and always timely questions around race, individualism vs. communalism, abortion and reproductive justice, religion, dating, parenthood, and more. We seek diversity in perspective, experience, and thought, mindful that equality is dependent on empowerment through knowledge sharing, listening, and addressing difficult subjects with civility. / At the moment, our programming is held mostly in New York City and Washington, DC. Expansion is on the horizon, however.

Passionate about social justice, Claire Gould directs all Feminist Dialogue activities and growth in Washington, DC. She also serves as Communication Director for the D.C.-based Women's Information Network (WIN), a powerful professional network dedicated to empowering young, pro-choice, Democratic women. She’s a prolific blogger around the topics of publishing and women's issues. Perhaps you’ve read her work at Bibliofeminista … we love it!

Outside of her work with Feminist Dialogue, Claire works with Catholics for Choice, a pro-choice organization that affirms the capacity of women and men to make moral decisions about their lives and reproductive health, and was previously with Burness Communications, a firm dedicated to making real social change through communications and advocacy. At Burness, her work on the public health team focused on the social determinants of health. In other words, how access to healthy foods, a safe neighborhood, and a living wage can affect health and wellbeing.

Claire is a Master of Arts in Communication candidate at Johns Hopkins University.

Allison Raygor leads our feminist brunch salon series, The Hive. She comes to Feminist Dialogue with an evident drive for challenging human rights abuses, supporting social justice initiatives, and promoting sustainable community development. Her dedication is evident in her work to end human trafficking, aluminum smelter plants, and mountain top removal in the United States, India, and throughout South America.

Allison loves a challenge and is always looking to build new skills. Just two months after learning the art of espresso making she was asked to manage an entire café. Volunteering with an award-wining Indian NGO, Allison’s pivotal contributions were quickly noticed, leading to many requests for continued consulting with the organization.

Allison is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Portuguese and French. She brings a diverse background to Feminist Dialogue having lived, studied, and traveled throughout South America, Europe, and India.

Jillian Foster has been recognized as a thought leader in the feminist research and organizing community, advising many of the world’s leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and human rights institutions. A specialist in rigorous micro- and macro-level data analysis, Jillian emphasizes the need to disaggregate empirical data to better understand the nuances of aid effectiveness, programmatic impact, and individual lived experiences. Jillian has led client retention research with Mimoza Finance, a microfinance bank in northern India; evaluated programming for Saodat, a NGO in post-Soviet Tajikistan; spearheaded campaigns on the rights of native women and the international Arms Trade Treaty with Amnesty International; and developed coalitions within the gender-based violence, reproductive rights, and economic equality movements.

Jillian is a graduate of the University College London (University of London) where she completed a Master of Arts degree in Gender Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from California Polytechnic State University, specializing in international economics, inequality research, and gender studies.
